18 Questions To Get To Know Me

HELLOOOOO!! Abby here, the photographer behind the camera and this whole website you’re checking out right now. 👀 If there’s one thing I love more than anything, it’s asking my couples a million questions and getting to know them so our relationship feels like close friends! But honestly, sometimes I forget to talk about myself, which is equally important in building a relationship. So, to help you get to know me better, which will hopefully lead to your wedding day being a little less awkward, I googled “good q+a lists” and found one I thought had somewhat interesting questions. Check out my answers below and hopefully you will have a little bit of insight on what goes on in my brain (only a little though cause trust me you don’t want an in depth look at the mess that swarms around in my head 😂).

1. If you had a time machine, would you go back in time or visit the future?

I don’t think that going to the future is a good idea for anybody. There’s a lot of reasons why and I’m really not going to get into them, but basically I just think that we really should just focus on the life we’re living now and stop thinking about what’s next. Ya know… stop only thinking about the destination and start enjoying the journey. But I would definitely go back in time because there’s a lot we could learn from history.

 

2. Would you rather have a home on the beach or in the mountains?

This is so hard for me to choose because I am honestly happy pretty much anytime or anywhere I am if I’m in nature. However, there has always been something about the water and ocean that feels so comforting to me. I’ve always been drawn to the beach and would probably spend every single day I could sitting on my porch listening to the sound of the waves. Maybe it has to do with me being a swimmer… I have no idea ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ but yeah I think I’m going to have to go with the ocean. My mountain home can be my vacation home. 😂

 

3. What was your favorite game as a child?

I have to only pick one?? Goodness gracious. 😬 If we’re talking board games… I have always been a little obsessed with backgammon. But if we’re talking about video games I think I have to go with either Mario Kart or Super Monkey Ball. Minus my small period of my life where I was obsessed with Runescape… other than those, video games weren’t really my thing.

 

4. What food do you crave most often?

Pizza and pasta… literally all the time!! I can’t tell you how much I THRIVED when I was in Italy last year. I could probably eat pasta every day and really never get tired of it.

 

5. If you could visit one place on Earth where would you go?

Honestly, the question should actually be where wouldn’t I go?? That list may be a little shorter… I feel like this changes every day because there’s really way too many places out there that are on my list. Currently I would say that Hawaii is on the top of my list. I’ve always dreamed of going there. I think it’s maybe the combination of the ocean, tropics, mountains, canyons; it just sounds and looks incredible.

I also draw a lot of inspiration from places like Morocco and Bali so I’m dying to go there someday too. But again, pretty much everywhere you can think of is on my list. I believe that traveling to different places and experiencing different cultures is the key to opening your mind to new perspectives. So you will definitely see me going all over the world in the future.

 

6. What would your dream house be like?

I definitely don’t need a large house to be happy. I never really grew up thinking I wanted a mansion or anything like that. Instead, I really want my home to be well integrated with the earth and outside space. When I think about the future and my family, I definitely want my kids to be comfortable with the outdoors and appreciate nature. They don’t even have to be big on adventuring and hiking, but just understanding the importance of the earth, I think. So my dream home would be something that really brings both the inside and outside worlds together.

 

7. If you could own any three cars what would they be?

This is a weird question I feel like because for me having a car is less about the actual car and more about the functionality of it. I also would never imagine owning more than 1 car… so why do I have to choose three?? But, anyways, let’s answer the question. I would say I have to have a good mid size SUV (very similar to the one I have now) that I can take on road trips, off roading, and has a lot of packable room. I also would totally get a good camper van or car I could convert to live out of for a few days so I could go on long trips to places. And then probably an extremely fuel efficient or electric car that I could take with me throughout normal life and drive around town.

 

8. What makes you the angriest?

I’m generally a very happy person but of course there are some things that really push my buttons. The biggest thing that makes me angry is probably when people don’t respect mine or other’s opinion and tear us down for it. I’m talking people who don’t let you speak and instead just speak over you, people who don’t try to see things from your perspective, and people who try to invalidate everything you say. I think it’s incredibly rude and so disrespectful. The hard thing is that while I believe it’s more of their issue than my own, I still see sometimes how their actions affect the way that others think about themselves and that is the worst of all. I just think it’s really important to know everybody is smart in their own way and we all deserve the chance to speak.

 

9. What always brings a smile to your face?

Honestly, people. Yeah there’s a lot of really bad and crappy people out in the world but there’s also so many amazing humans who are trying to make a difference, even just by spreading some kindness. I love to see it, hear it, and meet others because of it. I think how everybody has potential to change your life and I love being able to explore that by meeting a lot of different people.

 

10. Which song reminds you the most of your life?

I wouldn’t say that it reminds me of my life but Dreams by Fleetwood Mac is always a song I will vibe to. It’s my go to rainy day snuggling, road trip driving, sunny day exploring song (haha okay that was really cheesy I am so sorry 😭). My point is that I think it’s one of my favorite songs and I will always be in the mood to listen to it.

 

11. Which is more important, truth or happiness?

As somebody believes that happiness is a choice (at least most of the time) I’m gonna have to go with truth; you can choose to be happy despite a truth that might lead to unhappiness. I’m the type of person who wants to know what you’re thinking. I don’t like being lied to, even if that lie is supposedly trying to save my feelings. People deserve to know the truth. People also deserve to be happy, but again, we have the ability to choose that for ourselves.

 

12. Would you rather be rich or famous?

Rich, this one is pretty easy. Not saying that I’m money hungry or ungrateful for what I have, but as somebody whose hobbies are quite expensive, being able to have a lot of money to freely do the things I love doesn’t sound so bad. I also don’t care about being famous at all. I don’t need everybody to know who I am, but I want the people who do know me to think well of me. I guess you could say quality over quantity.

 

13. If you were a superhero what powers would you have?

100% I would love to read minds. Like I said on number 11, I like to know what people are thinking. I’m very aware of people around me and take note of their actions, so being able to read their minds too would just be the cherry on top. I can’t tell if it’s because I’m an extremely curious person or because I want to know the truth. Probably both, but it doesn’t really matter.

14. Who would be your ideal partner?

Andrew’s already got that title, but here’s why. I need someone who will make me laugh and always lighten the mood if needed. Someone who I can have conversations with about complex ideas and it’s not an argument. Someone who understands my mind and intentions and helps to correct things that I may have done wrong. Someone who is honest and has integrity. Someone who doesn’t just talk love but shows it too. Someone who shares my passions with me but also supports my freedom to pursue some passions alone. Honestly I can go on and on about this because Andrew is quite incredible and I say all the time that he’s perfect for me. I will say, the idea of a great partner is much different than what an actual great partner is. We’ve been married for 2 years now and I have learned a lot about myself and what I actually need versus what I think I want. My ideas about the “perfect person” have changed a lot and I’m super grateful for that.

 

15. If you could change anything about yourself what would it be?

This is actually a really hard question to answer because I don’t really know if there’s something I’m unhappy with about myself. Currently I really just think about my habits and some habits I would like to change or get better at (like I need a better morning routine for sure). I also am trying to work on being quieter, listening more, and being okay with silence (as a 7 this is really hard for me to do). So I guess if you classify that as something I want to change about myself that would be it.

 

16. Would you rather trade some intelligence for looks or looks for intelligence?

Definitely I would trade looks for intelligence. I believe that a lot of beauty comes from the inside (cliche I know 🙄) and that the people who truly care about us don’t like us because of how we look but because of the person we are. This probably comes from the many times in my life where people look at me and treat me like I’m stupid simply because of how I look and I definitely would love to prove them wrong.

 

17. If your parents hate the partner you love; would you ditch him/her or carry on with them despite the protests?

This 100% depends on where my parents and family are coming from. What’s their angle?? Why do they hate him?? If they just didn’t like the person he was because he didn’t fit a certain “idea” then I probably wouldn’t do anything. If they didn’t like the person because of the way I was being treated or I was changing my behavior for the worse then yes I would probably listen and ditch him. Only after a good amount of fighting though. 😜 But thank goodness I don’t have to deal with this because they love Andrew (probably more than they love me I think).

 

18. If you could choose one celebrity to be the father/mother of your child who would it be?

Okay, I’m going to be lame and say that I’m not answering this. 1: because even though there’s celebrities that I like, I don’t know if I would say that they would be good with raising my child. 2: I don’t really want my child to be raised in a life with eyes always on them. But… if I could just take a celebrity’s genes and make all my children beautiful I would gladly choose Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds. Do I even have to explain why?? Also, who else is anxiously waiting to see what their children will grow up to look and be like?? 🙋🏼‍♀️
